"Big Joke" Revokes Thai Visas of Suspects in Grisly Murder?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing “Big Joke” yet again. He apparently has come up in news regarding what was really a really sad situation, a rather grisly or what appears to be a grisly murder here in Thailand. Quoting directly, and this is from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com. After reading this, it made me think of making this video. The article is titled: Suspect held in killing of German in Pattaya, and this is from bangkokpost.com, quoting directly: "PATTAYA: One person has surrendered to police and warrants are out for two others linked to the gruesome murder of a German property broker whose dismembered body was found in a freezer in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district in Chonburi. National Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn" (I think that's Deputy National Police Chief this is what it says here, I think that is a bit of an error) quoting again, but I think it should be Deputy National Police Chief Police General Surachate Hakparn ordered the revocation of the suspects' visas to prevent them from fleeing the country." So that's where things appear to be situated at this moment, that these folks are prevented from, as suspects they've had their visas revoked. We have discussed in other videos, if you do become the suspect in a criminal proceeding or you are actually charged, there is a specific Visa category for that. They effectively will suspend or terminate whatever standard Visa someone might be on - Non-Immigrant, Tourist, whatever - and then place them into basically a Visa, which places the correction system in sort of a custodial capacity over that foreign national. Then basically their visa status hinges upon those proceedings. So as those proceedings are moving forward, the Visa is maintained, one is in lawful status because they are basically being held in Thailand. Then further status is determined at the termination of that proceeding So if acquitted you probably revert back to your underlying Visa, if you are found guilty, you may be doing a lot more time in Thailand probably your Visa status isn't going to be really a big deal to you and you will probably be deported at the end of that so you are not going to have a visa thereafter anyway.
Those really are kind of the two ways it is going to go but there is sort of an interim Visa status associated with just being in Thailand under investigation or being charged with a crime. And unfortunately, and I don't know if the suspects may ultimately not even, it may only be alleged; they may not go through adjudication, it remains to be seen. But long story short, yeah it is worth noting that yeah there is Visa status associated with an undergoing adjudication, presumably criminal in the Kingdom of Thailand.
