"Blacklist Or Visa Revocation" For Foreigners In Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Blacklisting or Visa revocation of foreigners here in the Kingdom of Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Phuket residents demand expulsion of Swiss "bully".

Now the thing to bear in mind in this video, this underlying story has really gone viral here in Thailand. It involves a foreign national, property encroachment, accusations of assault, all kinds of things going on in here. I made another video contemporaneously with this one where we discuss that in a little more detail but I wanted to speak directly to the issues of Visa revocation and blacklisting here in the Kingdom. So getting to that, quoting directly: "Meanwhile Phuket Police Chief Pol Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum said officials would consider a Blacklist or Visa revocation against foreigners who violated laws in Phuket.

Yeah, for foreign nationals here in Thailand, this is something you have to keep in mind. If you are engaging in illegal activity or operating some kind of illicit business or operating against the law here in Thailand, there are not simply law enforcement consequences arising therefrom, there are also Immigration consequences. For those who are again operating illegally in Thailand, you could end up in a situation where you could be arrested which is bad enough, but also bear in mind detention prior to arrest is its own set of problems. Let's say you're convicted, even of a minor crime, now you are subject to deportation and the detention sort of arising from deportation proceedings can be its own sort of incarceration which isn't pleasant. Then on top of that you get deported and then you could be blacklisted; you are basically barred from re-entering the Kingdom for a very prolonged of time. It is yet another reason why to abide by the laws here in Thailand and why failure to do so can not only result in criminal penalties but permanent expulsion from Thailand in general.
