Can I Be Turned Away by Immigration on Arrival in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are talking about being turned away by Immigration.

I have a lot of questions coming at me on this topic, here recently especially, because people go to so many pains to get a Thai Visa and they ask me, "Can I be turned away at Thai Immigration?" The short answer to that is "yes, you always can be." If you are a foreign national attempting to enter a country that is not your country of nationality, yes it should be presumed that you can be turned away. You are effectively asking for temporary status. In a sense, you are asking to be a guest in that country and yes they can always refuse you access. Now as a practical matter the clients we have been assisting have been going through using various Visa categories, going through the process to get into Thailand who have gone through all the rigmarole to do that: "fit to fly" documentation, Certificates of Entry, Visa issuance or re-issuance in some cases, things associated with Insurance, they get all of that documentation together, prove up their ability to come to Thailand to only be turned away at Immigration with no particular reason, no that is not happening. That being stated, yes if you showed up to Immigration for example without a Certificate of Entry under current circumstances, sure you could be turned away.

But the thing to take away from this video, if you go through the steps, if you go through the protocols and you arrive at Immigration with all of your proper documentation and you are basically clearly approvable for admission to the Kingdom, yes they are 99.99999% likely to go ahead and approve you for admission and admit you accordingly.

So the thing to take away from this video is while it is technically possible for you to be turned away by Thai Immigration, it is not overly likely.
