As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the “Phuket Sandbox” and we are discussing O-A retirees or O-A Retirement Visa holders. A question that has come up, there seems to be a little bit of a misconception out there, folks have asked me "Can I use the “Phuket Sandbox” if I am a retiree as opposed to just a tourist?"

I think there may be a little bit of a misconception out there that only tourists can use the “Phuket Sandbox”. In point of fact no, we have assisted folks to come in using Retirement visas to come into the Phuket Sandbox, it is possible to enter Thailand using a Non-Immigrant Visa, in this case an O-A Retirement Visa, to go ahead and come in, avail themselves of the “Phuket Sandbox”, presumably to not have to go through the standard 14-day quarantine but go through the quarantine on Phuket where basically they have a run of the island and they are not cooped up in a hotel room for 14 days. They can roam around the island and avail themselves of the “Phuket Sandbox”.

But yes there seems to be this misconception that this only applies to tourists and that those on a Retirement Visa would not be able to use this. No that is not the case. It is possible, we have assisted folks in getting an O-A Retirement Visa to use the “Phuket Sandbox”.
