Could Thai Immigration's COVID Testing Protocols Change in 2021?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing COVID-19 testing protocols in the context of Thai Immigration; so those who are coming to Thailand on a Thai Visa or are seeking admission to the Kingdom.

A recent article from thaivisa.com, the article was titled: Opening to Foreign Tourists: "More Convenience Over Visas" Promised as NSC Meets Foreign Ministry Today. This is quoting directly from the source INN so they are translating and citing that. Hats off to Thai Visa. Thanks so much for that.

But something came to my attention that is not really quite having to do with the overarching theme of this article and I urge those watching this video to check out that article on thaivisa.com but quoting directly: "He also promised NSC contact with Health Authorities in the New Year regarding possible changes to testing protocol." So, the "he" there, they are quoting from General Natthaphon and that is someone close to the NSC or in the NSC dealing with policy on this overall matter. So to read that again, "he also promised NSC contact with health authorities in the New Year regarding possible changes to testing protocol."

Now what exactly that means remains to be seen but I definitely think it is noteworthy especially in an Immigration context that the overall protocols associated with testing for COVID-19 could change soon. If that were to happen, I am sure it will have tremendous ramifications for those looking to come into Thailand and it could have ramifications with respect to the overall Thai visa process. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation progresses.
