Could Thai Yellow House Registration Books Ease Digital Banking Issues?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are asking the question, could the Yellow House Registration Book or the issuance thereof, lead if you will, or I should say ease if you will, what I am trying to say is could it ease your digital banking issues? What are we talking about?

I have done a number of videos to this point on all of these ridiculous problems people are having with Digital Banking platforms right now here in Thailand since the “exploration” - because it is my understanding we are not signed on to the OECD here in Thailand, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development - which if this is development, frankly you can kind of count me out. But that said, this organization, as we have talked about in other videos, is talking about aligning banking standards and doing all this stuff. One of the upshots it appears, is the issue of people's banking, their digital banking is being shut down. They are having their access to their accounts via digital platform shut down and they are being told, "hey you need to come in and align your SIM Card information to your banking information."

Now the point of this video is, if you have a Yellow Tabian Baan, if you are a foreigner and you have a Yellow House Registration Book, that document is a document that pertains to your ID; it pertains to your identification and it also pertains to your lawful address here in Thailand. So I was thinking about it the other day, actually I was making other videos and it kind of came into my head where I said to myself, "oh would Yellow House Books be sort of a key if you will, a master key to dealing with this digital banking issue?"

Let me be clear, I am not thrilled by this whole Orwellian notion of registering all of us and having every scintilla of information about our whereabouts and what not, just to be able to maintain simple banking functions. But that said, in my mind Digital Banking is not something I am interested overly anyway, so I sort of get where they are coming from. They are saying, "hey if you want to do digital banking, you have to do what we say." I don't agree with it, but whatever, we have been doing it without all of this, and it has been fine; I talked about it with the Digital Wallet some time ago. This is where this stuff leads is to this sort of neo-Soviet, Orwellian system.

That said, where you get a Yellow House book and you have an official residence - it is registered in the Thai Governmental System, the Department of Provincial Administration specifically - then okay now you have an official resident; you have a document to present to the bank; you have a document to present to your cell phone service provider, your phone service provider for your SIM Card and everything, and it is clear and it is clearly written in Thai, what your address is.

That document, that Yellow House Book, may turn out to be a real key to ease of use for banking purposes, especially Digital Banking purposes here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
