Female Foreigners Can Behave Badly Too?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing foreigners behaving badly and I just thought of something when I was reading the article that we will get to here in a moment. As I said, I only often talk about male foreigners behaving badly and I do know we are in the era of girl power and all of that, and I was reading this article, so I thought I'd make this video.
I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Drunk foreign woman causes chaos at Pattaya hotel, citizen helps capture her. Quoting directly: "A foreign woman in a heavily intoxicated state caused a scene at a hotel on Pattaya Beach Road, breaking a glass table while attempting to engage in inappropriate behaviour with a male companion at 3.06 AM on December 25." So, this is 3am on Christmas day. So, Santa has probably just been down the chimney and then this woman's doing whatever on some table at the beach. Quoting further: "Hotel staff tried to intervene and escort the pair to the police, but the woman fled. Citizens assisted in capturing her and she was eventually taken in for questioning." I urge those who are watching this video go check out that article in detail, further insight in there.
Again, first thing I want to point out is look we all come to Thailand to have a good time, and I'll be the first one to admit that I've gotten a little crazy myself from time to time. That being said, you have got to go kind of over and above, you have got to kind of go above and beyond in order for regular rank-and-file Thais to be interested in "capturing" you, okay? Look again, the point I'm making with these videos generally is one) if you are coming to Thailand just try to keep it like within certain parameters. I do get it, especially people that are coming from other countries, and quite honestly the rest of the world just is not free like it once was. Thailand retains her inherent liberties, especially on a street level basis, it's just sort of the nature of Thailand if you will. And I do get it, people that come here, they've had the chain pulled up tight for months, or years on end, and then they get here and they just kind of want to let go. I get it, but please come on let's keep it within basic parameters. Christmas Day at 3.00 am, you are macking on some dude in the middle of a hotel lobby and you break a table. That probably is extreme behaviour; I would say that that is a safe bet.
So the thing to keep in mind is if you wouldn't do it in your home country, why come here to Thailand and do it? Secondly, look if you are intoxicated, it is 3 am, you are trying to do something with your male companion, maybe take it behind closed doors in your own room. Don't do it on some table in the middle of a hotel lobby. Just my thoughts.
