Good News on Tax and Thai Immigration But Not 90 Day Reports?

Transcript of the above video:

I have talked a lot here in recent days about Tax Policy, how it interacts with the Immigration System here in Thailand. This video though specifically is on the topic of 90-day reporting. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Pattaya retirees targeted in latest scam calls scandal. Quoting directly: "Chonburi Immigration adds that there is no plan to link visas to income tax or to require a Tax ID Number to qualify for an extension." Yeah, I've discussed this in detail in prior videos and I urge those who are watching this video, go check all that out.

But long story short, yeah this is good news. I have discussed this at length before and I have said for a long time now, Thai Tax documentation is not an integral part of the visa extension process and only when it would or could become part of that process, should most people really worry about tax policy in Thailand generally at all.

That being said, as we have discussed in other videos, it does not look like that that is on the horizon. So I don't think that we are going to need to worry about that, at least for the foreseeable future.

That being said in the thrust of this video, unfortunately 90-day reporting still exists; it's actually mentioned, specifically outlined in the Immigration Act of 1979 here, so it is statutory law that foreigners have to deal with doing 90-day reporting here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
