Immigration Inspections Are Not Uncommon in Thailand
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Immigration inspections. These are inspections by Immigration Officers when they are inspecting for example an office wherein somebody is maintaining a Business Visa and a Work Permit for example, or there may be inspections to someone's house in association with a Thai Marriage Visa; we have discussed that at length in other videos.
Specifically in this video, we are kind of going to concentrate on Business Visa and Work Permits because inspections do happen. Thai Immigration undertakes inspections on a pretty frequent basis. New companies are oftentimes subject to inspection at a more frequent rate because Thai Immigration wants to see what's going on. We deal with this a lot and oftentimes we will get clients that will be calling us up and saying "oh my gosh, Immigration is here!" They won't even have hired us, they will just like seen me on YouTube or something and call us up and I will say, or my people most likely here at the firm will say: "yeah, yeah, put them on the phone. Let's talk to them. Oftentimes we can send somebody down to the office that the Immigration Officer has an issue. A lot of, I hesitate to call it pro forma but I think it is wise to not be precipitous if you will. It is a good idea to look at Immigration inspections as routine; maybe that, it is part of the general function of Thai Immigration to undertake inspections. They are not necessarily singling somebody out; they are not oftentimes even looking to cause a problem. They're just looking to do their job and make sure folks that are in Immigration status here in Thailand are complying with their status.
