Increased Scrutiny of TM30 in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the TM30 in Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "It's already started with a higher degree of scrutiny of one's TM30 status." Now that comment was made on a video, we were talking about the recent major shakeup within Thai Immigration and the implications and ramifications associated therewith.

The thing to take away from this video though is, yeah there does appear to be heightened scrutiny regarding TM30 at the moment and Thai Immigration seems to be taking that pretty darn seriously for the moment.

For those who are unaware the TM30 is a form that if you are living in Thailand, if you are coming into Thailand to live, you have to go ahead and fill out a TM30 if you are going to be here longer than 90 days; it is an address reporting requirement. Now folks that come in on Tourist Visas oftentimes there will be a TM30 filed on their behalf usually by the hotel that one stays in in Thailand but if you are coming into Thailand to stay in Thailand on a Non-Immigrant Visa, then you are looking at a situation wherein yeah, you are going to need to deal with TM30 and it is something that in the past was kind of a pain quite honestly. The process has been rather streamlined now compared to the process in the past, so hopefully this won't be a major hassle for most folks coming in to live here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
