Is It Possible To Get A Joint Bank Account In Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

We have been talking a lot recently about banking because banking is an issue that seems to create a great deal of consternation in the expat Community. It just seems to be something that can kind of be a little bit nettlesome to deal with especially for new folks moving here to Thailand.

The question posed by this video is, "is it possible to get a joint bank account?" The answer to that is yes, joint bank accounts are feasible. Joint bank accounts may be feasible both in the context of a personal bank account as well as a corporate bank account. It may be possible to have a corporate bank account which requires multiple, one, two or more signators in order to make withdrawals, write checks for example depending on circumstances. Where we mostly see joint bank accounts utilized especially by the clients of our firm, is in the context of being married to usually a Thai national, what we would call a household account back in the West. It is basically a joint account which is used by both parties for matters pertaining to the household.

Now the thing to take away from this video and understand is joint bank accounts may not be most optimal for usage in the context of Visa extension. We will get into that in other videos made contemporaneously with this one but long story short the reason for this video is to understand yes, joint bank accounts are a possibility here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
