More Restrictions on Thailand Elite Visa Usage?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, even more restrictions are now being placed upon the Thailand Elite Visa sometimes now referred to as the Thailand Privilege Visa. That said, I thought of making this video after receiving an email from a viewer, and this person said to me “not the end of the world, but yet another withdrawal of a service which has been paid for”. So this person then forwarded me an email from Thailand Privilege, the Company, and it says: "Dear valued, and it was under the heading of: Important Service Update SE/PE Thailand Privilege Visa Stamp Affixation Time Restriction at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
So this is talking about restrictions on when you can get your visa affixed when coming through the airport. For those who are unaware, most Elite Visa holders - and this was the case when Elite was created - we saw all kinds of problems with this during COVID is that Elite Visas were not issued at Embassies prior to COVID. Then in COVID under the Emergency Decree and all the regime associated with Certificate of Entry, they did start doing it sometimes at Embassies, but now we have reverted back to the mean if you will, and we are back to the standard operating procedure which is when you come into the country, they affix it at the airport. That used to be a pretty seamless thing. These days, due to all their restrictions, and they are saying, "oh, we have got to have an extra 60 days to do a background check on you again, before we reissue the Elite Visa, and all sorts of other sort of picayune ticky tacky requirements; I have covered all of that. Now a new one is being added which is they are restricting the time frames during which one can even get their Elite Visa affixed. Quoting directly: "Dear Valued Member, We are writing to bring to your attention an important update regarding our SE/PE Thailand Privilege Visa Stamp Affixation at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Please be advised that effective immediately, appointments for Visa stamps affixation will no longer be arranged between 00.00 hours and 05.00 hours (midnight to 05.00 am). We respectfully request that all members ensure their appointments are scheduled outside of this designated restricted period."
So that is where things are sitting. Not a huge issue as the person who sent me this, and tip of the hat to them, points out. I mean it's not the end of the world when it comes to the issue of Thailand Elite, but it's just another example of how more restrictions are being placed on that Visa category here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
