New Thai Immigration "Crack Down"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing, well the recent "Crackdown" here in Thailand on Thai Immigration matters. Quoting directly from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Chinese illegals arrested, Thai charged with sheltering them. Quote: "Teams of police, soldiers and local officials raided five border villages in Khemmarat and Pho Sai Districts on Monday afternoon, acting on information that Chinese men who entered the country illegally were hiding there." Quoting further: "The operation was led by Ubon Ratchathani Immigration Chief Pol Col Chatchai Samniang. Pol Col Chatchai said the arrests were in line with the policy implemented by National Police Chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapas and Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn,” (that is "Big Joke") quoting further: "to crack down on illegal migrants along the northeastern border."

So yeah, Thai Immigration is not messing around with illegal immigrants and as we have seen in the past, the crackdowns, I sort of said this coming off of the lifting of the Emergency Decree back in October of '22 that look now that the discretion on the part of Immigration Officers to be kind of softies is gone, you are probably going to start seeing a lot more the more stringent measures come back to the forefront. I think that is what we are seeing here is that look Thai Immigration crackdowns, they were not unheard of at all, in fact they were quite frequent going back into in 2017, '18 and '19 okay. Then we went into 2020 and things pretty massively changed as a result of everything that happened in that year, and then '21 and '22 were what they were and now I think we are kind of reverting back to the mean if you will, going back to the default position of "yeah crackdowns are probably going to be occurring." I would say it's a fair bet to presume we are going to see more of them as time goes on so be ready. How do you be ready? Well keep yourself in lawful status here in Thailand; maintain your Visa; don't go into overstay, do your 90-day reporting, do TM30, report your address correctly, just keep yourself in line with the Immigration protocols of the Kingdom of Thailand.
