As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing a new TM6 system which is being rolled out here in Thailand starting here in 2025. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Online TM6 Form for visitors to Thailand coming on May 1. "The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is preparing to promote the online TM6 Immigration Form which will be compulsory for all foreign arrivals entering Thailand as of May 1, though the Government is reluctant to start collecting the 300 Baht Tourism Fee this year. TM6 Immigration Forms were temporarily suspended by the Cabinet on April 15, 2024." 

Yeah, we talked about that at the time, and I did actually point out, well they are saying it's temporary, but there are a lot of things in the bureaucracy that are ostensibly temporary at the outset of something but then they end up permanent. This thing looks like it's come back but now it's come back in digital form so, "hurrah for digital" I guess. You can guess from the tone of my voice, my glee in this matter. That said, quoting further: "When this suspension period ends on April 30 this year, a digital version of the TM6 will replace the paper-based one, said Natthriya Thaweevong, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary. Mongkon Wimonrat, the Ministry’s Deputy Permanent Secretary said the Government would prioritize the digital TM6 before adopting other types of entry screening planned earlier to prevent confusion among tourists." That is interesting. I'm doing another video contemporaneously with this one. This Thailand Immigration System, Thailand's internal intake system for Immigration inbound, they talked about rolling out this system, this TIS system and I sort of said at the time that, okay seems odd, but it looks like that's morphing at least or the situation is evolving and this TIS System, this Thailand Immigration System is being sort of put on the back burner because now they're going to pull out this digital TM6. 

Bear in mind, this has not come yet so as with everything, and we have discussed this many times on this channel over the many years - by the way, I can't believe we're at 7,000 videos at this point, but here we are. Amazing to me, it's been kind of an interesting ride; I appreciate the positive feedback; in my own way, I sort of semi-appreciate the negative feedback; the rest of the negative feedback, pound sand but whatever. In any event, the point I'm trying to make with respect to this is, I said sort of, 'this DTV looks weird, what is all of this?' It's evolving is what we know, and now it looks like it is going to be this TM6. 

Again, stay tuned for that video made contemporaneously with this one where we're going to discuss the whole, "what's going on here?" basically. Is this whole thing being put back? Does it involve the DTV? Whatever. Again, stay tuned on this channel as we update you as the situation is evolving.
