As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing small business setups for married couples in Thailand. Specifically this is a video that pertains directly to a foreign man generally. The gender roles could be reversed, I have seen it, I have had clients that is the case, it is a little more rare but it does happen most assuredly. But a western man married to a Thai woman and they are looking to set up a business together. This can be a very optimum setup, it can be very cost effective as well because the Visa associated with Thai marriage coupled with the Work Permit there are lower capital requirements oftentimes; there are also lower requirements associated with things like salary, no need for things like bank balances and things associated with visa extension. Then the Work Permit, the two sort of reinforce each other. The Marriage Visa sort of reinforces the Work Permit and vice versa especially with the Work Permit, it meets the financial requirement, the Marriage Visa meets the Visa requirement, they sort of go hand in glove. 

So in many ways, I think those who are looking to come to Thailand to do business here are optimally served oftentimes by a business, if it makes sense within the couple’s marriage, they are oftentimes optimally served by an SME entity that utilizes the foreigner, it is used as a vehicle for that foreign national to gain not only their visa but their Work Permit and again it can be much more cost effective compared to other alternatives.
