"Streamlined Service" at Thai Immigration?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing streamlined service at Thai Immigration? I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Pattaya has recovered only 50% say travel gurus. Now the thrust of this article goes a very different direction, I'm going to quote a small excerpt here. I urge those who are watching this video interested in those topics, go ahead and check out that article in detail. Quoting directly: "Chonburi Immigration, with headquarters in Jomtien, now offers air conditioned comfort and a streamlined service for many." Yeah, as we have discussed, it seems the Immigration Office, specifically down at Pattaya, has been streamlining a lot of Immigration services and they have actually expanded their physical space in there and created a waiting room with air conditioning which I am sure many people who have dealt with Pattaya Immigration for years are sort of aware that it was always kind of a small place, it was pretty hot out there. You would oftentimes see people waiting around under sort of tents, these sort of tent top things, waiting around to get in to deal with their Visa matters. They have gone ahead and expanded that; they have gone ahead and added an air conditioned waiting room. I think that's probably considered a major positive by most folks and that is a good thing. Also noted in there, so what are we talking about streamlined service? Apparently down there in Pattaya Immigration 90-day reporting as well as TM30 reporting are much more streamlined than they once were. It is easier to deal with that; it is easier to deal with the documentation and the processing associated with those two endeavours so it is much more efficient than it has proven to be in the past. Whether or not this overall policy will extend to other Immigration Offices sort of remains to be seen.

As we have noted in other videos, different Immigration Offices do things differently. They have sort of local prerogative with respect to administrative processing if you will and for that reason, sometimes you will see different offices really fundamentally do things completely differently. Now I imagine provinces which don't have the high volume for example that Chonburi Province specifically Pattaya has, you may not be seeing the level of streamlining they are apparently seeing in Pattaya. But apparently moving forward, we are definitely seeing that in Pattaya. Here in Bangkok, kind of a mixed bag mostly again because Bangkok's volume is so much higher compared to Pattaya although Pattaya has got a high volume of Immigration stuff it deals with on a day-to-day basis. That said, again whether or not this overall paradigm kind of spreads to all the Immigration Offices throughout Thailand remains to be seen but we will keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
