As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Business Visas specifically in the context of re-entry permits. For those who are unaware, you can come to Thailand on a Thai Business Visa and if you obtain a Work Permit and an extension, you can remain in Thailand for one year intervals. The thing to take away from this video regards re-entry permits and this is especially notable with regard to 90-day Business Visas when you are dealing with your extension and getting your reentry permit. We deal with a ton of extensions of status based on Business Visa status here in Thailand. In fact day to day we are probably dealing with between 1 and 4 cases involving those on any given day, different clients, different circumstances, whatever.

One thing that has been kind of interesting and it is worth giving credit where credit is due to Thai Immigration, they have as a practical matter seem to have decreased the amount of time it takes for them to process an extension of status so the review period has dropped a little bit and under many sets of circumstances, if someone has to for example leave the Kingdom while their Business Visa extension is being reviewed, it is possible to get a just one re-entry permit, multiple entry preferably, re-entry permit to allow that status to remain preserved while that person is outside of the Kingdom. 

The reason this is important is because in the past you could sometimes end up with a situation where somebody on a 90-day B Visa would have to get one re-entry permit to sort of finish out their 90 day B Visa and then another re-entry permit which costs more money, to cover them during the one month review period. Now once you are in to the one year extension after you are out past the review, the re-entry permit is kind of rendered, it's not moot because you still need a re-entry permit, but this issue of do I need another one because my status is ending before I'm coming back and where does that put me as far as lawful status, long story short, not to confuse anybody with this video or cause more confusion than is necessary, presently Thai Immigration seems to be making all efforts to try and sort of consolidate the issue associated with extension of Business Visa status, 90-day Business Visa status and re-entry permit status so it's all sort of dealt with in one fell swoop.
