Thai Business Visa Difficulties Likely to Increase?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Business Visas and apparently certain aspects, scrutiny and otherwise, things are likely to tighten up, get more difficult associated with Business Visas moving into the coming year.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Immigration Chief vows to tighten visa extension rules. There is a lot going on in this article. I urge those who are watching this video go read this article in detail. I am going to read a small excerpt as it pertains to this video but for those who are watching this video, check out this article, a lot of information there. Quoting directly: "The Immigration Bureau will tighten its Visa extension rules to prevent foreign criminals from establishing businesses in the country, its Chief said on Thursday." What does this mean? Well I have done some videos on this, we have talked to Department of Employment within the Department of Labour, Ministry of Labour here in Thailand. They have said look we are increasing the number especially in new business setups and new business visa applications, we are increasing the number of inspections. We have been dealing with that, it is what it is, it is extra work but it is part of our job so it's okay and we deal with it.

This is kind of the Immigration apparatus it looks like saying kind of similar things. A lot of background here. Again I urge you to read that article, I don't really want to get into that. The point is yeah when we are looking at new company setups here in Thailand we are expecting in our office, and let's be clear, this is kind of more our problem than it is ever going to be our client’s problem because this is what we do and they are retaining us to assist the process as it is at the moment. Yeah long story short, what we are hearing is yeah Immigration is looking to kind of tighten things up; it is looking to deal with Business Visas matters and business setups, not so much on the setup side but especially associated with the Immigration side, they are going to be looking at scrutinizing this stuff far more carefully than they have in the past. That could lead to things taking a little bit longer. Not something I am overly scared about in any sense, concerned maybe to some level but it is just kind of the nature of the beast if you will. These things ebb and flow and we are sort of used to things getting more difficult and less difficult in sort of cycles if you will within the Immigration apparatus.
