Thai Business Visas: Unforeseen Issues Moving Forward
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Business Visas. Specifically we are discussing it in the context of moving into 2023 and is there anything sort of on my mind. A lot of people have been asking me about this, that I see kind as far as kind of an issue moving forward.
One of the big ones we have seen, especially coming out of the pandemic and the lockdowns here in Thailand, is a lot of people forgetting that they need what is called a re-entry permit. For those who are unaware, those in Thailand who have an extension in Non-Immigrant Visa status, if they leave, that status just dies but if they get a re-entry permit, it preserves the status when they leave and they can come back in using the remainder of their visa status. This has been something that I have seen people overlook a lot in the past few months and it can lead to some real problems especially with the Thai Business Visa because the documentation to get that Business Visa issued or extended, it's like a phone book, it's thick and there's a lot of documents that go into that and it's not really something folks generally like to go ahead and repeat.
So probably something to think about moving into 2023 especially if you are on a Business Visa and especially if you haven't travelled much, double check that you have got a re-entry permit, specifically a valid one. Specifically also check if it's a single entry or a multiple entry re-entry permit so that you don't end up leaving and you are actually not preserving your status, that can be a problem too. But something to really think about when it comes to Thai Business Visas especially moving forward is to be aware that a re-entry permit is necessary if you have had your status extended here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
