As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Business Visas, comparing them with Thai Education Visas. I have had some folks here recently especially in the aftermath of the past couple of weeks where we have seen major changes with respect to policy on Thai Education Visas, the major change being that I think that availability of these Visas is going to constrict greatly. I think if you are in an Education Visa, especially if you are in an Education Visa where let's say you are not really in a formal program of education, or pedagogical study or you are attending a university or Academy or something like this, if it is a much more informal program let's say, it may not be available to you in any meaningful way in the relatively near future. In short, Education Visas are going to be more difficult. 

I have had people ask me what is better, Thai Business Visa or Education Visa. Far and away if you are looking at peace of mind associated with maintaining long-term status in Thailand, the Business Visa is far and away a better option compared to a Thai Education Visa, there is no doubt about that in my mind. The other big major difference between a Business Visa and Education Visa is a Thai Business Visa, generally speaking you are going to be able to get a Work Permit. With an Education Visa, yes there are limited exceptions especially those who are like working in sort of a student capacity but they may like work at a bookstore or something in a university and they need a Work Permit, under those limited circumstances maybe, and I stress "maybe" a Work Permit might be provided on an Education Visa but the incidents of that that I have seen in 15 years here are so rare that it is almost to the point of not ever happening but I have seen it but it is very rare. It is so rare, it is sort of the exception that proves the rule. 

Meanwhile, the Thai Business Visa, much better long-term options, much better long-term prospects and again Work Authorization pretty much readily available. My opinion, Thai Business Visa far better than Education Visa for a person looking to be in Thailand for the long term.
