As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thai Education Visa, that is the ED Visa. For those who are unaware, this was once used quite frequently frankly among the expat community. Backpackers and things would use this a lot and frankly it was kind of used as a pretext, you can even maybe make the argument it was a pretense in a lot of cases that people were going to a language school and they would get an Education Visa based on that etc. 

Long story short, what is it going to look like in 2022? Well I would say it is not going to look too much unlike 2021 and that is not very good for those who are looking for an ED Visa. Now let's be clear, depending on your circumstances you may be eligible for an ED Visa. However, it has been made very clear especially since the promulgation of the Emergency Decree in 2020 in response to the pandemic, it has been pretty clear that both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration here in Thailand are going to be pretty reticent to issue an ED Visa. 

Again circumstances may dictate an opposite view but for the most part I don't think you are going to often see ED Visas being issued. Now again if you think you may be eligible for an ED Visa, it may be a good idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
