Thai Immigration Chief: "Permanently Ban Them from Entering Thailand"?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing one of the Thai Immigration Police Chiefs and let me be clear, this was the Immigration Police Chief, or acting Commander of Immigration Division 3, but saying, "Permanently ban them from entering Thailand? What are we talking about here?
I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Thai Authorities revoke visas of illegal online lenders. Quoting directly: "Immigration Police have revoked the visas of 12 Chinese Nationals and permanently blacklisted them following a raid on a luxury pool villa that they say was a base for an illegal online money lending business. Local Police and Officers from Chon Buri Immigration Office raided the villa in Tambon Nong Pla Lai in Bang Lamung District on Friday morning. They said the suspects had been based in Dubai before moving to Thailand. Police pressed charges against the 12 suspects for failing to notify Immigration of their residence in the Kingdom and working without permission. Two of them faced an additional charge of overstaying their visas. All were handed over to Officers at the Bang Lamung Police Station. Pol. Maj. Gen. Chairit Anurit, acting Commander of Immigration Division 3, said on Saturday that he has ordered Pol. Col. Naphasphong Khosittasuriyamanee, Chief of the Chon Buri Immigration Office to revoke the visas of the suspects and permanently ban them from entering Thailand." See, this is what I'm talking about when it comes down this “Foreigners Behaving Badly” stuff. The outcomes can be really, really severe.
Now as most people are aware, the mainstream press is talking a lot right now about the so-called Call Centre scam gangs and things mostly going on down in Myanmar. I'm not really up to speed on what all that is. All I do know is China seems hell bent on becoming a nanny-minder of Southeast Asian sort of generally, so I question their motives. In fact, I presume they have some sort of ulterior motive in getting all up in arms about this stuff and it really interesting how the end result is a bunch of their Officials hanging around Myanmar and just generally being around down there. I would love to know what other things they're doing aside from pursuing this terrible scourge of Call Centres which one would think in the digital world -, especially where China has the great Chinese Firewall wherein they can intentionally block people from gaining access to their people via the wire, via lines if you will - it kind of begs the question as to whether or not these people's physical presence and all of this talk of all of this terrible Call Centre scam gang stuff really is what it appears to be.
That being said, the thing to take away from this video is Thai Immigration is not messing around and they don't care what your nationality is. The only thing they care about is are you a Thai or are you not, and if you're not a Thai, are you a Permanent Resident or are you not? If you're not and you're doing things that are either illegal or against policy here in Thailand, you could find yourself in a situation where you are not only detained but also deported and as noted, permanently banned from re-entering the Kingdom of Thailand.
