Thai Immigration Is Mobile Now?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Immigration going mobile? What are we talking about? I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Pattaya Immigration brings convenience to tourists, ensuring safe and smooth travels. Quoting directly: "In a bid to provide greater convenience for tourists during the New Year celebrations, the Chonburi Immigration Office has deployed a mobile service van to assist both local and international visitors. From December 28 - 31, the mobile service will be stationed near Central Festival Pattaya Beach along Beach Road, offering a range of services from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm."

Interesting they did that from 4.00 pm. to 10.00 pm. That's also, if you notice, if you have ever lived in Pattaya, or been to Pattaya, Pattaya doesn't really wake up until about 2.00 pm, so putting it on from 4.00 pm. to 10.00 pm., that's knowing your audience. Good job there Thai Immigration. Quoting further: "Led by Pol. Col Napatspong Kositsuriyamanee, the Chonburi Immigration Chief, along with his team, the mobile service van offers tourists several immigration-related services. These include extending their stay for tourism purposes, processing Free Visa and TR Visa applications, issuing Re-entry permits and assisting with notifications for staying beyond 90 days or registering accommodation under Section 38." So interesting; they are dealing with TM 30 stuff; they are dealing with 90-day reporting and all of that stuff through that mobile operation.

It will be interesting to see if down the road, or as the year progresses or as time goes on, whether or not Thai Immigration continues to roll out this facility because I think this is a pretty good idea especially during high season, high turnover, high volume periods here in Thailand where we just have a lot of people here. Putting up a mobile van that allows folks to go to that mobile site, rather than necessarily having to use the main Immigration Office could pull a lot of pressure off the main Immigration Office and could provide more convenience for folks who are just trying to be tourists here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
