As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the fact that Thailand has been sort of courting if you will, a lot of International film productions. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from MSN, that is msn.com, the article is titled: Thailand Approves 30% Film Production Incentive, Aims to Remain a Competitive Location. Quoting directly: "The Cabinet of the Thai Government on Tuesday approved a large increase of the country's film production incentives. Under the current scheme, first introduced in 2018, foreign productions can earn a 15% rebate on their location activities in the country. A further 5% rebate can be earned for those shoots that use a significant proportion of local crew, promote Thai culture and film in second-tier or lesser known locations. The maximum rebate is capped at THB75 million or US$2.25 million per film. 

That is a major incentive for those who are looking to come to Thailand and go ahead and film. I know for a fact there been a number of productions in the past year or so which have utilized Thailand because it is such a great location especially war movies, or productions that are shooting war movies sort of from the Vietnam era, I know that they use a lot of Thai landscape for those types of productions. And then just other types of movies, just movies generally find that Thailand can be a great place to go ahead and film. Now one of the big things to keep in mind is there are issues sometimes associated with work authorization when bringing in foreign crews, foreign actors, foreign staff. Sometimes you are going to go ahead and need to get work authorization dealt with but yeah as noted in that article, there are a number of incentives associated with filming in Thailand not least of all is the ability to get a pretty major rebate in terms of money back just simply for filming here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
