Thailand Elite Visas for Medical Tourism?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thailand Elite Visas. For those who are unaware, Thailand Elite is  program that it is not specifically an Immigration program, it is actually sort of a long stay Tourism Visa if you will for so-called high net worth individuals, folks who have the resources to essentially join the Thailand Elite program offered by Thailand Privilege Card here in Thailand and it permits folks certain access within airports; there are certain golf benefits associated with this type of membership but one of the big perks is long-term Thailand Elite Visa status. For those who are unaware, we have discussed this in other videos on this channel. It is a prolonged Visa; it is not residence in Thailand; it does not confer work authorization but if you just want to come to Thailand to effectively "chill out" for a long period of time, Thailand Elite Visa is pretty darn good for that function.

I thought of making this video after reading recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thailand to Strengthen Position as Wellness and Medical Tourism Destination. For those who are unaware, Thailand is a major hub for Medical Tourism here in Asia and throughout the world most notably because it is paradise basically. Thailand is a great place; it is a great tourism destination but on top of that it has some of the best medical facilities in the world and they are very reasonably priced, so Thailand becomes sort of this epicentre for Medical Tourism. Again, this from Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, again the article is titled: Thailand to Strengthen Position as Wellness and Tourism Destination. Quoting directly: "According to Allied Market research, the Asia Pacific region accounted for 35% of Medical Tourism, with Thailand contributing 9% in this sector. The country has 59 healthcare facilities accredited by the US-based Joint Commission International, which is the fourth largest healthcare accreditation body in the world. In addition, the Government provides a Medical Tourist Visa and the Thailand Elite Visa for a long stay of 5 to 20 years."

Yeah, depending on the program you join within the Thailand Elite Visa system, you may be granted very prolonged status here in the Kingdom. So you may get for example 5 years, 10 years,15, 20 years and there's nothing that says that you can't turn around and get another one of these visas after you have used one up. So depending on your situation, it may be possible to remain in Thailand for a very prolonged period of time for medical purposes.
