Thailand Gives "Nod" To 10 day Quarantine?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing quarantine here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
In a recent article from Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: New 10-day Quarantine Policy Will Drive Return of Foreign Visitors to Thailand. Quoting directly: "At a meeting of the National Contagious Diseases Commission, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul remarked that COVID-19 prevention measures must also work hand in hand with economic rehabilitation efforts." Quoting further and I thought this was the important part for purposes of this video. There is more in this. I urge you to go to pattayamail.com and read this for yourself. Quoting directly: "Distinguished members of the body also gave a “nod” to cutting the present 14-day quarantine down to 10 days with closer post quarantine measures to substitute for the reduced number of days. The idea is to be put to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration." That is the CCSA. They are the body in charge of administering the response to COVID-19 here in Thailand. Now do I think this will happen? Probably. Now do I know exactly when it will happen? No and it remains to be seen. Now that stated, I think it probably will happen relatively soon. There probably will be new requirements associated with screenings. I suspect screening will become a lot more thorough in the sense that whereas now there is spaces of a few days while these folks are in quarantine, we have talked to clients who have gone through it, I suspect maybe we could see daily testing throughout that 10 days.
Again it all remains to be seen. We will try to keep you updated on Alternative State Quarantine and flights and the current travel restrictions as well as Thai Visa rules and requirements via this channel as the situation progresses.
