Is Thailand Pass Required to Enter Thailand by Sea?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thailand Pass and we are discussing re-entry to Thailand by sea. At first glance, I thought the answer to this question was pretty obvious. Yeah it looks like yeah, of course you need a Thailand Pass. Pretty much everybody coming into Thailand these days is going to need a Thailand Pass but apparently and after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com and I urge viewers who are interested in this check out that article directly. The article is titled: Tourists hoping to enter Thailand by land should maybe think again. Quoting directly: "Until Thailand collapses the need for prior online approvals of wannabe entrants, the land border opportunities will remain limited for most visitors as the documentation required is the same. However," (and this was interesting), "visitors arriving by sea, by yacht, not a big number, can apply to the local Immigration Authority for Certificate of Entry on their port arrival."

So to any yacht users out there who are watching my YouTube videos from their yacht, you are out in the high seas out here in Southeast Asia or nearby and you are wondering about this, apparently it looks like it may be possible that you may not need Thailand Pass to enter under these limited circumstances. Now that said, it looks like you get a Certificate of Entry at entry. Now are they going to require you to stay on your boat while this is all being processed? Possibly. It remains to be seen and then if somebody tests positive under a PCR test situation or an antigen test, then it may be required that they undergo quarantine. Again it is going to be very circumstantially dependent but I did think it was interesting, very insightful. Again I urge folks, go check out the pattayamail.com and read that article in more detail because there is a lot of information in there but interesting that there was this kind of little caveat out there.
