What's the Status of Quarantine Protocols in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing quarantine protocols in Thailand. I have had a lot of correspondence on this, a lot of people wanting to know exactly what is going on here. I am sorry we haven't made anything sooner than this but candidly, frankly it has been pretty fluid. People kind of think I am trying to do news here. That is not really the purpose of this channel. What I am trying to do is provide as much pertinent information as possible once we have a certain level of certainty regarding what the situation is we try and get it out there. Now there are some things that will happen rather quickly and if we can we will try to get it out there fast. But the purpose of this channel is not really news per se or news in the more traditional sense. We are not trying to scoop anyone with headlines or something out there or with a story. We are more trying to do analysis and figure out where everything stands.

So as of time of this video and this should be going up on May 5th, 2021, we know what we are looking at going into the 6th of May with a lot more certainty than we have the last couple weeks. Again, I haven't wanted to put anything up mostly because I didn't want to really confuse anyone and the last couple of weeks and we have been dealing with clients that are dealing with Embassies and trying to get their Certificates of Entry issued; trying to get them on to planes; get them into Thailand, it has been candidly a rather harrowing experience.

A recent article from the Nation, that is nationthailand.com, the article is titled: 14-day Quarantine Mandatory for all Arrivals in Thailand from May. Quoting directly: "The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration announced on Thursday that all arrivals from overseas will be required to complete their 14-day mandatory quarantine regardless of their vaccination status or nationality." Quoting further: "People arriving after May 6th will be quarantined for 14 days." Now there is a lot more in this article. It gets into some finer points here about, there was different protocols for folks that had certain documentation prior to certain dates coming in while this policy was being promulgated. That is all irrelevant now and we were dealing with that in a practical sense and believe me, different cases kind of panned out differently for lack of a better term because of the facts of those given cases. Quoting further: "Travelers checking into Alternative State Quarantine venues will be required to stay inside their rooms at all times." That is a very big difference from this phased in easing of quarantine requirements that we have been talking about the last few months. It appears that we are back to square one with respect to that. Quoting further: "They will not be allowed to use any facilities the hotel may offer and are required to undergo 3 COVID tests during the quarantine period." So again we have discussed quarantine protocols, all the testing, now it is back to a 14-day period, 3 quarantine tests and you are basically not allowed to leave your room.

So that is currently what we are looking at here at this time. Again the situation is fluid. We have seen these things ease only to be tightened up again, a couple of times depending on the subject we are talking about. Hopefully we will see things sooner rather than later. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation progresses.
