As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thai Work Permit process in 2025. Is it likely to change? Probably not. I suspect it's going to look largely like what it did in the past. 

Now there are things that are coming online. For example, the Electronic Travel Authorization is coming online, notably or they have said some time in 2025; it has been postponed. Meanwhile, Thailand or the Thai Immigration Officials are rolling out the TIS system, the Thailand Immigration System - that is coming online. Meanwhile, as we have discussed in other videos, there are other visa options available for folks who don't necessarily want to work in Thailand. In the past, they kind of got shoehorned into the Work Permit system, these days not so much, so that I expect will lead to a lower volume of Work Permit applications made on an annual basis, which may result in faster processing time; again, it remains to be seen. 

Now that being said, the question also that should be posed by this video is what will Work Authorization moving forward possibly look like? Could it go digital? Well as we have seen with the Board of Investment, BOI, yeah, they have basically a Digital Work Permit. We still have the analog Work Permit, the paper Work Permit in the sort of standard Visa cases. But that said, that could change as well. I don't know exactly what this will look like. As far as the protocol, I don't think we are going to see much change with regard to the underlying rules although they could, and if they are going to change, generally speaking we usually see that happen right after the first of the year. That being said, with the possibly lower volume of case load, we could see Work Permit processing become faster and more efficient.
