As the title of this video suggests, a Thai woman is pleading for some amount of justice. Hopefully by putting this out here on this channel, some folks will become aware of this situation and maybe to their betterment.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from Khao Sod English, that's and khaosodenglish.com, the article is titled: Wife pleads for justice after assault leaves man in ICU. Quoting directly: "PHUKET: The wife of a Thai man left critically injured after an alleged assault by a group of foreign nationals has appealed to the media for help, saying the case has shown little progress as her husband remains in intensive care. The case gained attention after a local social media page shared images of the 38-year-old victim, identified as Weerasak Mudlee, lying in a hospital ICU bed connected to monitoring equipment. According to the post, the man was severely beaten and remains under close medical supervision. The wife expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of progress in the investigation, questioning whether the response would have been different if the victim were a foreign tourist. Police records show the incident occurred at about 8.30, 20.30 hours, on April 12 in front of Marine Plaza Market in Patong, Kathu District. The victim told investigators he was driving through the area, when a foreign man splashed water into his vehicle prompting him to stop and confront the individual. He said a group of about four to five foreign men then attacked him, leaving him seriously injured. The victim later filed a complaint with Patong Police, who are now working to identify and locate those involved. Authorities have not yet released the details on suspects or arrests as the investigation continues." So again, hopefully by bringing light to this there may be some level of remedy that accrues to this person who it sounds like has been through a harrowing ordeal. 

I've talked about it. I think there are probably going to be ramifications especially on the back end of this last high season and this most recent Thai New Year because there were a lot of incidents of what I can only describe as Foreigners Behaving Badly here in Thailand. I expect that it is going to have ramifications from an Immigration Policy standpoint; that said it remains to be seen. Again, my heart goes out to this poor guy who was just, sounds like trying to do his job living his life and he was attacked, and now it seems like that they're not really pursuing the case. So again, this is coming from probably someone who's a little bit closer to the situation than would be optimal for objectivity. But that said, I mean if weeks have gone by and they haven't even really done anything to investigate, it does beg the question, why not. Again, they may still be investigating. There may be more going on to this than we know. That being said, we will certainly be keeping folks updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
