Will New Thai Immigration TM6 Form End Some TM30 Hassles?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question, 'will the new TM6 Digital System basically streamline certain issues associated with the TM30?" I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "Why are they going to start using it again, makes no sense. I doubt they even know themselves why they are going to have it."

Well I think one of the reasons they may be rolling it out, as I have discussed in other videos, there has been a lot of pie in the sky talk, primarily it looks like from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which really has no - Immigration internally in Thailand is not within Ministry of Foreign Affairs' bailiwick if you will, so I don't know why they did this. But they started with the DTV which they sort of touted as one thing, but okay yeah, you can issue the Visa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs but you have to deal with Immigration here internally: we're still seeing how that's evolving. It remains to be seen exactly how it looks.

But a good question brought up by this TM6 being re-rolled out in this digital format is, what is the purpose? One) It looks like to at least forestall all of this new “digital” nonsense associated with Immigration. They are just going to basically have the standard TM6 which is called for under the Immigration Act of '79. It hasn't been made up since basically just out of the air; it has legal foundations. They are digitizing that, that's basically what they are doing. Now one problem that came about with the suspension of the analog TM6 system is it then required an immediate filing of a TM30 here in Thailand that was causing people problems some six, eight months ago; we discussed this at the time. I'm presuming that the roll out of the digital TM6 will effectively ameliorate that problem moving forward.

So, it looks like that instant TM30 problem is no longer the issue that it once was because you are registering in the system via the digital TM6. Now that said, this has yet to be rolled out so we will certainly be keeping you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
