Will Thai Embassies Require Proof of Vaccination for Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the notion that vaccinations will be required for Thai Visa application at Thai Embassies and Consulates abroad.

Quoting directly from the Bangkok Post print edition, Saturday May 8, 2021, the article is titled: Phuket to Re-open as Planned. This was an interesting excerpt. I urge folks watching this video to go read this article. There is lot in there, a lot of information but quoting directly: "The 4th and final phase due to begin on January 1 next year, will allow any foreign tourist certified to have been fully vaccinated to be allowed to enter Thailand and freely travel around."

Now what about non-vaccinated folks? Well, we have done another video on this channel contemporaneously with this one and it remains to be seen exactly how the unvaccinated would be dealt with; if they would be required to quarantine. What? I can't say at this time exactly what would happen there, mostly because I don't think even the policy has been promulgated yet. There may be no differential by the time we get into 2022 especially if numbers of people vaccinated reaches a certain level that the Government deems it at that point it is no longer an issue. It remains to be seen. At least for now it looks like vaccination will probably be a requirement for those who wish to at least mitigate or have no quarantine after 2021 moving forward, at least from what we can surmise at this time.

That said, presently it is possible to come to Thailand without a vaccination. Everyone is required to go through a 14-day quarantine presently. That may change in the future. We saw briefly there was a differential in quarantine times between those who have been vaccinated and those who are not vaccinated. Whether or not that will change moving forward remains to be seen. We will certainly make further updates on this channel as the situation evolves.
