Appointment Issues for K-3 Visa Interviews in Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing K-3 Visa appointments specifically interviews at the US Embassy here in Thailand. This is going to be a Thailand centric video.

First of all we don't usually see a number of K-3s processed at any given time but the same analysis generally that holds true for K-1s is generally going to hold true for K-3s. We have actually dealt with some K-3s over the past few months. Unfortunately the K categories unlike the CR-1 and IR-1 categories, one has to go ahead and lock in their own interviews and there are a finite number of slots for a number of people who are trying to get in and get interviewed.

I also think, this is speculation based on my observation, that I think that the Embassy is also instituting certain COVID mitigation protocols which may be decreasing the number of staff they have got on at any given time and the number of interviews they are handling at any given time in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19; I think that is their intention. It is resulting in fewer K Visa interviews than we saw in the past and it is just unfortunately, I know folks don't really want to hear this but yeah it is just more time consuming and we are just all plodding along trying to get interviews set as quick as we can and get people processed through as quick as we can but yeah it is definitely more time consuming than one might read about as far as past times of processing a K-3 Visa.
