Are US Immigration And Donald Trump Inextricably Linked?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are asking the question, I don't mean to laugh here because it's actually really it is sort of a grave situation, but as we all know, there was this incident involving what appears to be the attempted assassination of Donald Trump during a recent event in the United States. It appears and I say 'appears' because well, I have my own pretty solidified idea of what went on that day. These events that occur like this, we tend to not really fully understand them until months or years later when the sort of facts kind of shake out. But by anyone's metric, this was obviously a very harrowing experience for Mr. Trump. It was unfortunate; I don't know what was going on in terms of security, but let's not get into all of that. It's not really even the purpose of this channel.
What was interesting and odd was that it turned out that US Immigration, which has always been something that Trump has talked about politically since he got into the running to become President the first time, then he talked a lot about it during his first term. He didn't do very much about it other than really make the legal Immigration process unnecessarily obtuse and throw in a bunch of like booby traps and things into the system and do things to the system that just caused it to quite honestly become administratively ineffective. Leaving that aside, I mean it's interesting that the big issue that he was talking about, which apparently may have caused him to turn his head in such a way that it may have avoided quite a grisly fate for him and we are all very happy that that didn't occur - nobody wants any kind of loss of life or anything - but long story short, he was talking about US Immigration and he was getting pretty passionate about it. And I think it's just worth noting that moving forward there looks like to be a pretty decent chance that we could see another Trump Presidency. You can bet that Immigration is going to be high on the priority list I have to imagine in that at least hypothetical at this point in time Trump Presidency. But that said we have seen what happened in the first go around so there's no reason to presume that we might not see further problems in the Immigration space starting to crop up within the next year or so.
So something to be aware of. If you are looking to bring a loved one to the United States right now, getting things on file sooner rather than later would probably be an optimal sort of strategy because as we get deeper and deeper into a Trump Administration, again possibly looking at year out even past that, I think it is safe to presume we are going to start seeing a lot of new requirements and things that are going to make the overall process that much more onerous.
So the thing to take away from this video is if you are looking to bring somebody back to the United States within a couple of year window from now, probably a good idea to be looking to doing that sooner rather than later.
