Can a Credit Card Be Used to Pay the Fees for K-1 Fiancee Visa?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title to this video suggests we are going to be discussing the K-1 visa specifically the issue of “Can fees related to the K-1 visa petition be paid via credit card?”

A recent announcement from USCIS dated February 14, 2018, Valentine’s Day, USCIS Expands Credit Card Payment Options for Fees. Quoting directly, ”Washington -- US Citizenship and Immigration Services  announced  they will now accept credit card payments for filing  most of its forms. The new payment option is available for 41 fee-based forms processed at USCIS Lockbox facilities to pay by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Applicants will need to use a specific form”, I am paraphrasing a little bit here, “USCIS will enter credit card data into the pay.gov system operated by US Department of the Treasury and they will destroy the form to protect the credit card information.

A couple of things to take away from here. I went ahead and looked at the list and right now as of this point the K-1 visa form is not on the list of forms that will be eligible for payment of the requisite fees with credit card. So it remains to be seen whether that will change in the relatively near future but as of the time of this video, it appears that  K-1 fiancée petitioners are not going to be able to use a credit card to pay the initial USCIS filing fee.
