Changes to K-1 Visa Processing in 2025?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing K-1 Fiancé Visas yet again. The question posed is could there be changes to the process in 2025?
Well look, we have Trump incoming. He's set to become President of the United States again as of January 20 and I think it's safe to say, look we saw a lot of changes occur in the first Trump Administration with regard to K-1 Visas, most notably the de-prioritization of such cases during the COVID situation. Can he do that same thing again? I kind of doubt it. That was actually sort of overturned by on Appeal. Meanwhile, I'm hoping this incoming Trump Administration is different from the first one wherein they are going to prioritize enforcement of Immigration Laws along the border, but they are not going to sit around and try to hamstring people that are trying to go through the process legally. Unfortunately, in the first term that was the case.
Now by the way Biden Administration, you are not all that much better because you didn't improve on any of this stuff. There were a few things that got sort of turned around, most notably things associated with Affidavit of Support - that may come back - I'll discuss that in videos pertaining to US Marriage Visas. But again, do I foresee anything necessarily happening within 2025? I think it's kind of unlikely, mostly because again these bureaucracies they don't just turn on a dime, it's like stopping a really big boat, it takes a while for them to stop and then change direction. Now that said, yeah, it's possible we could see some major changes. It looks like Trump's coming in very dynamic. Again, my hope is the concentration is on illegal Immigration especially at the border and they are not going to hamstring folks that are trying to go through the legal process.
That said, it remains to be seen. Again, for those who feel a bit overwhelmed about the whole process of obtaining a Fiancé Visa to the United States from Thailand, it may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
