CR-1 & IR-1 Visas Processing Outside "Normal USCIS Processing Time"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the IR-1 and the CR-1 petitions and we are discussing this notion of normal processing times.

I have done other videos contemporaneously with this one discussing the K-1 and the K-3 and suffice it to say the thrust of those videos is there really is no "normal processing time" at USCIS. Yes there gets to a point where it can be unreasonable and in those circumstances if it has gone on for years, if they are still claiming "to be processing it", you may have to take certain measures but for the most part of it is just like "hey we have got a day over what they say are the normal processing times", you are just going to drive yourself crazy worrying about that.

First of all, I don't really like that they post this notion that there are these “normal” processing times and you should do something or contact them if it has gone past that. In my experience, they process as quickly or as slowly as they process, long story short, that is what I have to say on that.

The good thing to be said with respect to the Immigrant Spouse Visas, the CR-1s and the IR-1s, we are seeing those petitions process relatively briskly especially compared to times past. So I definitely think with respect to those, at least going into 2022, I think fewer people are going to even raise this question of "normal processing times" compared to the K Visa categories because I don't know why. Again it is just kind of inexplicable, why the Bureaucracy deals with one thing one way or one thing quickly and another thing slowly, it is just the nature of the beast.
