As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the I-601 Waiver process. For those who are unaware, I-601 Waivers are often obtained or filed after one receives a finding of inadmissibility. We oftentimes see this after somebody has been denied a Visa at the US Embassy here in Bangkok. They have been found to be legally inadmissible to the United States for some stated legal ground of inadmissibility for example crimes involving moral turpitude we see from time to time, possibly, in some cases fraud and representation, prior overstay, prostitution; there are various grounds of inadmissibility. 

The reason for this video is just I have done a number of videos about various processes and what my thoughts are going into 2022 on them. With respect to the I-601 Waiver process I don't think anything has fundamentally changed although I will say we have seen a higher incidence of issuance of Request for Evidence, so-called RFEs but I would say one of the main things to be aware of going into 2022 is timing. Everything in the Immigration system with the exception of a few key things, everything in the Immigration system that I have been dealing with over the past year, it just seems more slow or to process more slowly than times past. I think it is safe to presume that the I-601 Waiver process while certainly has been that way I suspect we will still be dealing with slower processing times going into 2022.

Hopefully as the year plays out things will kind of calm down, things will kind of smooth out and we will see things kind of speed up with respect to I-601 Waiver processing but it remains to be seen and we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
