As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing possible changes to the I-601 Waiver process in 2025. What are we talking about here? Well for those who are unaware, those who have what is called a legal ground of inadmissibility to the United States can be barred from going to the USA by dint of the fact that their visa will be denied based on that legal ground of inadmissibility.

As we have discussed in other videos, prior overstay may contribute to a legal ground of inadmissibility, prior crimes involving moral turpitude, prior crimes generally, prior engagement in things like prostitution or sort of drug offenses can all lead to a finding of inadmissibility. You can then apply for a waiver of inadmissibility in order to be granted admission notwithstanding the presence of illegal ground of inadmissibility. 

The question is will that process change in 2025? I expect not markedly within 2025, but we do see a new incoming Administration. Here through Thailand, I'm not expecting a lot of changes. That being said, in a lot of the high fraud posts around Thailand, in the countries around Thailand, yeah, we could see more stringent measures. Quite honestly, I did a video recently on the most disgusting case I've ever worked, wherein basically the system is trying to bootstrap their denial based on their own denial; I am not going to get into that too much, but I'm hoping that doesn't continue too much more. 

I'm also hopeful that Trump will learn from his first Administration that enforcing Immigration Law as regards illegal invaders in my opinion of the United States is one thing, but going after legal immigrants to my mind is another. Now how exactly this plays out remains to be seen, but we will certainly keep you updated as the situation evolves.
