K-1 Fiancée Visa Processing In 2024

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the K-1 Visa process. For those who are unaware, K-1 Visas are utilized by American citizens and it is an exclusive Visa category which can only be petitioned by an American citizen. But yeah Americans can utilize a K-1 visa to bring someone with whom they intend to get married in the United States to the United States for a 90-day period during which time they need to get married and then file for Adjustment of Status if they want to have their fiancée, now spouse, remain with them in the United States.

Do I foresee there being major changes to the process associated with the K-1 Visa going into 2024? Hard to say. I don't know that the process could get much worse especially in terms of timing, although I shouldn't say that because God knows, especially post COVID the whole process is still much, much slower than it was going into the 2020s. So maybe I shouldn't say that, I guess it could always get worse. But I kind of am of the inclination that probably this year in Immigration, there probably won't be a great deal of change especially going into the sort of political season and Immigration is a highly polarizing political topic, so again I don't see much change in 2024. I'd like to see, especially institutions like the National Visa Center, maybe change some things, start process and things a little quicker. I certainly know the Embassy is processing things at a pretty fast clip right now; they are really getting things done. That is very, very good to see and I hope they keep that up but in terms of DHS and the NVC in terms of the K-1 Visa, the NVC isn't so much an issue but again we have had cases over there that will be kind of stuck there for a couple of weeks and even months and you won't really know what's going on with them.

Long story short do I see it massively changing? Not from one day to the next but I think gradually we may see the K-1 Visa process if anything maybe speed up going into the end of 2024.
