K-1 Visa Processing: Things to Look Out For Moving Forward?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing K-1 Fiancé Visas. I've had some emails recently from folks who have been asking, "look Trump's taking back over, what do you see with regard to the K-1? Is there anything we should be watching out for?"
And look, I mean thus far it looks to me like family-based immigration, and Fiancé Visas fall into that, are not being particularly singled out so I have got to give that credit. That said, I mean things that we are reading and seeing with regard to possible layoffs within USCIS, that never helps. Again, legal immigration is not overly prioritized under the present Administration. So at the end of the day, I wouldn't expect miracles to be occurring within the Immigration System. Meanwhile, I haven't seen anything yet akin to what Trump did with regard to effectively and massively deprioritizing K-1 Fiancé Visas compared to Marriage Visas that we saw in his first term. I'm hoping we don't see that; I'm hoping the Administration sees there are bigger priorities than messing with again family-based immigration, basically loved ones of American citizens who are trying to go through the process in the legal and lawful route to get to America.
But that being said, it remains to be seen, and we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
