Lack Of NVC Processing In K-1 Visa Cases?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing K-1 Fiancé Visas. For those who are unaware, it is possible for an American citizen to petition the United States Government to bring their fiancé back to the United States for the purpose of getting married. Now as we have noted in other videos, this type of Visa only offers 90 days of lawful status in which to get married and then apply for Green Card status in the United States.

The purpose of this video though is for me to sing my praises to the heavens of the K-1 Visa if you will, because it does not have to go through National Visa Center processing. NVC processing is not the most fun part of dealing with US Immigration matters, in fact it is the least fun part of dealing with US Immigration matters because NVC is quite honestly in my opinion, something of a quagmire, if it is not clear I don't really like the system. I find it redundant and on top of that it almost seems like it is designed to thwart people, to just bump cases out of the system for no real great reason. The thing that also bothers me is while Consular Officers have the discretion to deny visas, National Visa Center just does things through their automated portal which is clunky and doesn't work very well and they are effectively acting like Consular Officers making decisions when that is not their function. Their function is just basically to take the Visa package and forward it on the Embassy. The Consulate is the one whose job it is if they want to deny a case or delay a case, they can do that by issuing like a 221(g) for example which I do know different Consulates issue those in different ways.

Long story short, yeah K-1 visas, I won't say I prefer to do them, they just are what they are but it is nice when we are processing a K-1 case that we don't have to deal with the NVC.
