Preparing for CR-1 and IR-1 Visa Interview

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing CR-1 or IR-1 Immigrant Spouse Visas. As we have discussed in other videos where I discussed the K categories, the K-1 Fiancé Visa and the K-3 Marriage Visa, we are kind of entering the late phases where here in Thailand at least where they are on the verge of declaring this whole pandemic to be an endemic situation and hopefully we can kind of put a lot of this behind us.

I have been noticing in the Immigration apparatus that things are starting to thaw, things are moving forward. I am not going to say it is moving as fast as I would like or it is kind of back to the status quo ante March 2020 but it is getting there. One thing to bear in mind is we are starting to see the National Visa Center begin scheduling some of these interviews with a little bit more urgency than we have seen in the relatively recent past; it's definitely more urgency compared to the last couple of years.

Then the question becomes dealing with interview preparation and unfortunately the US Immigration system is always kind of a game of "hurry up and wait" and we have definitely been waiting a while and now it sort of feels like everything is turning into a mad rush because interviews are now being scheduled, we have got to get things moving along. We are able to do that. We are not having any real issues with respect to getting that done but it is just kind of an interesting time where we are on this kind of cusp of a major change over. Hopefully we are going to see the momentum fully shift over to just moving cases through rather than frankly this rather glacial pace of anything moving. Quite frankly, NVC has been really, really slow when compared to times past. Now they may have their reasons. My opinion is the big reason is NVC itself, but that said things are moving. Hopefully we will see this situation getting better as we get through the summer here in 2022.
