Text Messages of NOA-1 for K-3, CR-1 and IR-1 Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Notion of Action One. That is often referred to as the Receipt Notice or the I-797C which is associated with receipt of a petition by the Department of Homeland Security for a K-3, CR-1 or IR-1 Visa.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quote: "So a text message isn't the NOA-1? My fiancé received a message like this: USCIS: your case was received, receipt number and then the number, official receipt notice form I-797C to follow in mail. Message and data rates apply." So yeah they do have the function of sending out a text message when a K-3, CR-1 or IR-1 petition is received.

So when the actual petition is received by the Department of Homeland Security they can text. Now we always put the document in all of our petition packets to allow for a text message, essentially requesting a text message. It has been our experience they actually send a text message about one in every 10 cases. It has been my experience 90% of the time you never see a text. That is not really such a big deal. If you don't get a text message don't freak out because it just sometimes doesn't happen, in fact it oftentimes doesn't happen; I don't know why. I can think of myriad reasons; bureaucracy being what it is, it is not the most efficient thing in the world. That said, don't fret if you don't receive a text message. It is convenient if you do receive one because you get your case number sooner than you actually get the paper NOA-1. And again the paper and the NOA-1 is the receipt notice saying that DHS has received your petition for a Marriage Visa, for a foreign spouse, that they have received it and that they are going to begin processing it and then you have got a case number on there that you can use when you need to interface with the system.

But again don't fret if you don't receive a receipt notice by text, you will likely receive one by mail and even if you receive one by text you will also receive one by mail later.
