Trump Administration "Reviewing More Than 55 Million" US Visa Holders?

Transcripts of the above video:

We have had a lot of news recently here in Thailand regarding Thai Immigration issues and crackdowns involving certain visas - most notably the recent story that 10,000 student visas - they are sort of cracking down on that. It looks like we are seeing heavy scrutiny in the United States as well as it pertains to US Immigration.

I get into a lot of this stuff in way more deep-dive mode in our paid news service. For those who are interested, I do a video once a week, long form content, where I get into US Immigration, Thai Immigration, geopolitics, international relations, economics, how all of that factors in to expat land here in Thailand and sometimes the ramifications on US Immigration, and I am getting into that in a video I just recently made for the paid news service. If you are interested in the paid new service, please feel free to check us out, [email protected], you can email us at that email, get information about joining the paid news service. We will get you on the email list for that long form content. Also while I'm talking my book, I might as well point out, if you are in Bangkok and you are interested in American Diner style food, please feel free to check us out at Pancake Palace in downtown Bangkok. The link is in the description below for information on that.

That said, quoting directly from a recent article from the AP, the Associated Press, that is apnews.com, the article is titled: Trump Administration is reviewing all 55 million foreigners with U.S. Visas for any violations. Quoting directly: "The Trump Administration said Thursday it is reviewing more than 55 million people who have valid U.S. Visas for any violations that could lead to deportation, part of a growing Crackdown on foreigners who are permitted to be in the United States. In a written answer to a question from the Associated Press, the State Department said all U.S. Visa holders which can include tourists from many countries, are subject to "continuous vetting," - yeah that's an interesting one, continuous vetting; just sort of ongoing scrutiny - quoting further: "with an eye toward any indication they could be ineligible for permission to enter or stay in the United States. Should such information be found, the Visa will be revoked and if the Visa holder is in the United States he or she would be subject to deportation."

Yeah look, by any metric this Administration is very serious about Immigration, and everything about the Immigration process these days is frankly for lack of a better word more obtuse than I have ever seen it before in many ways. It is really not this Administration's fault with regard to that. In certain ways I think this Administration attempts to be more efficient at actual lawful processing, but the overall system is basically broken. As I have discussed in other videos, I mean the digitization of the National Visa Center; I have issues with that. It's sort of like a feedback loop of obtuseness for lack of a better term. It can be dealt with. We deal with it all the time, every day here in the office, but it is a difficult endeavour to undertake to interface with that particular office. Meanwhile, look enforcement is of prime concern to this Administration. I would argue it's one of the primary reasons this Administration came to power. It's one of the primary reasons people voted for it. I made videos during the last Administration where I was very concerned about the Southern Border because it just was wide open and nobody seemed to really be caring about it.  I even made a video about Patton having a gunfight with Pancho Villa along the Southern Border to sort of note just how important it is on border security.

So I myself at a certain level, agree with robust immigration enforcement. That said, legitimate lawful aliens should be permitted full due process of law; I agree with that. But look, there is a fine line between those things and honestly this Administration looks like it is increasingly concerned with making certain that people are in valid status in the United States and remain so.
