"US Embassies Around the World to Stop" Issuing Student Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing changes to Student Visa issuance policy at Embassies and Consulates around the world. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from BBC, that's bbc.com, the article is titled: US halts Student Visa appointments and plans expanded social media vetting. Quoting directly: "US President Donald Trump's Administration has ordered US Embassies around the world to stop scheduling appointments for Student Visas as it prepares to expand social media vetting of such applicants."

Yeah look, with Trump coming back to the helm, we are really seeing changes to US Immigration policy overall. We're kind of if you will snapping back to his first term or at least the latter half of his first term. I am kind of at mixed minds on Trump. I am one of the few US Immigration Attorneys probably out there that was not in favour of the situation as it was under Biden where the borders were just effectively wide open. I've done videos on this where I have stated, the United States is effectively being invaded; this is a real problem. The point I guess I am trying to make here is one, yeah, they are getting serious, they are getting exceedingly serious about vetting and I am going to do another video about social media vetting in this context but they are very serious about vetting applicants now for US Visas especially in a social media context. So what you have out there on social media is really going to be looked at, it's going to be scrutinized. I expect it is probably going to pop up in a US Immigration standpoint in other ways; I will get to that in other videos.

But long story short, I think we are going to see a definite decline in the number of Non-Immigrant Visas issued by Embassies and Consulates. First off Student Visas. I mean knocking those out entirely is a huge decline in total Non-Immigrant Visas issued. It will be interesting to see if there's an uptick in Tourist Visa applications but frankly Tourist Visas in a way, due to section 214b, are kind of harder to get if you will than Student Visas so unless you have a really good reason for wanting to be a tourist in the United States, they can be a real problem.

The thing to take away from this video is at the end of the day, US Immigration is getting harder overall. I think this is probably going to be a continuing trend and for those who feel sort of overwhelmed by this, I think it's looking like a better and better idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
