"US Tourist and Business Visa" Fee Application Increase?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the recently announced fee increase. There is a recently announced fee increase associated with - I think they are calling it the "Big Beautiful Bill" - that has been passed recently in Congress and coming along with that apparently is an increase to the fees associated with Tourist Visas and other Non-immigrant Visas, including what are called Business Visas, oftentimes referred to as the B1/B2. To be clear, that is not like a work visa to the United States it's like a Visitor Visa; it's really a Visitor Visa, Tourist Visa.

That being said, I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Thai Enquirer, thaienquirer.com, the article is titled: U.S. Visa Fees Set to Increase in October Under New "Integrity Fee" Policy, which the Integrity Fee, that was kind of interesting one. I'll get to that in a minute. Quoting directly: "The US Congress has approved a new visa fee increase expected to take effect in October under the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" signed by President Donald Trump on July 4. A new "Integrity Fee" - which I don't know, coincidence is God winking at you or something; that was kind of an odd one I thought - that said, quoting further: "will add $250 (over 8,000 baht) to the cost of all Non-immigrant Visas including Tourist, Student and Business Visas. This fee is charged when the Visa is issued on top of the current visa fees. Currently, U.S. Tourist and Business Visa applicants pay $185 (about 6,000 baht). With the new fee, the total cost will rise to at least $435 (around 14,000 baht). The fee applies to all travellers using non-immigrant visas except those from 42 visa-waiver countries. However, travellers from those countries who need special visas, like Student or Work Visas, must also pay the fee. Thailand is not part of the visa-waiver program so Thai travellers will be affected. No official start date has been announced but the fee is expected to begin with the U.S. fiscal year on October 1, 2025." So interesting update with regard to that.

Note, this is for Non-immigrant visas. I'll get into in a video I am making contemporaneously with this one analysis regarding all of this as it might pertain or not to Immigrant Visas, so visas like the CR-1 and IR-1, as well as discussion and analysis as it might pertain to Non-immigrant Visas like the K-1 Fiancé Visa and the K-3 Marriage Visa, so stay tuned for those videos.

That being said, yeah it looks like we are looking at a fee increase across the board associated with Tourist Visas and other Non-immigrant type of Visas. I presume this may apply to the F1, like for example student visas. It may apply to M Visas, J Visas; again those are all Non-immigrant Visas. It looks to me like we may be looking at a fee increase across the board in the Non-immigrant Visa unit which is different from the Immigrant Visa unit. I'll get into deeper analysis of that in forthcoming videos regarding the family-based visa categories and how this may or may not have an impact on them.

That being said, in the Non-immigrant Visa categories, the Non-immigrant Visa unit, expect a fee increase on the, looks like me imminent horizon, with regard to Tourist Visas, Business Visas, the B1/B2, it looks like it's specifically targeting that, so that looks like it is coming possibly in October. That being said, it remains to be seen, and we will certainly be keeping you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
