Always Beware "Guaranteed" Thai Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Immigration and Thai Visas. Specifically we are discussing this in the context of quite honestly what amounts to a bunch of bucket shops and fly-by-night operations out here in Thailand which unfortunately are in the habit of scamming a lot of people.

You know, it was actually kind of pleasant, one of the silver linings and it's very, very thin and not all that silver when it came to COVID was the fact that Immigration here in Thailand got serious and quite frankly the seriousness of Immigration essentially drove out all the frauds. At one point, I think we were primarily the only people that were bringing anybody into Thailand in terms of documentation, at least I think through April, May, and June of 2020 because a bunch of these bucket shops out here in Thailand, they don't even know what they're doing. Most of them are run by frankly incompetent people that don't know anything about Thai Immigration Law. They are just kind of, for lack of a better term in the common vernacular now, they're LARPing, live action role-play. Basically, what we used to call posing or faking it. It's just a bunch of broad really at the end of the day. And one of the big telltale signs of fraud is the issue of guarantees.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article in the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Red flags you are being conned in your visa application. Quoting directly: "The following are the more frequent clues that you're being scanned by agents who will grab your cash and not deliver your Visa. One bullet point - You are offering a "guarantee" that the Visa will definitely be issued." Yeah that's a big telltale sign. Anybody that walks in and you're talking to them and they say, "Oh, it's a guaranteed outcome; it's a foregone conclusion." Look nobody can say that with a straight face and nobody in good faith can say anything in a legal sense is a foregone conclusion. This is especially the case in an Immigration context where certain discretion is utilized as well as plenary power in the context of either Thai or Immigration systems throughout the world.

So the point I'm trying to make with this video is anytime you see a guarantee regarding matters pertaining to Thai Immigration be it a Retirement Visa, a Business Visa, whatever, take such individuals with a big grain of salt because at the end of the day anybody that is guaranteeing something like that, I think it's stupid frankly, because I think it just shows a level of incompetence. You can't guarantee an outcome in these matters. That being said, those who feel a bit overwhelmed by how the Thai Immigration system works, it may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
