As the title of this video suggests, we are asking the question: "Can Thailand instill confidence for foreign travelers coming to Thailand?" The reason for the question is there has really been a lot of flip-flopping especially since April of 2021. I have talked about this a fair bit on this channel. I thought it was a bad idea to open and then close and then open and then close; and by open I mean open to one degree or another. We still haven't seen a re-opening that looks like the situation prior to March 2020 ever, yet, we have yet to see that. 

As folks that may watch this channel recall, going back in to April 2021 there was a real move toward a re-opening, a decreasing of the quarantine. Then that was reversed and then it stayed that way for a prolonged period of time; then we got so called "Test and Go" which resulted in a number of folks coming into Thailand and then "Test and Go" ended in December of 2021 and now we are seeing "test and go" come back online. 

To that point, a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Thailand set for tourist rush with quarantine-free visas. I think the title is a little odd because it is not really "quarantine-free visas" but okay. Quoting directly: "Thailand is among the world's top tourist destinations because of all the beautiful attractions and the value for money said Burin Adulwattana, Chief Economist at Bangkok Bank., but the Government should try to instill confidence among travelers that the policies won't change again." Yeah, I couldn't agree more. The policy flip-flopping we have seen where it was this and then it changed to that and then it is slightly tweaked and then it is tweaked again, we really need certainty especially for the tourism sector because foreign travelers really need to feel like they know what is going on. I am really hoping with this latest iteration of "Test and Go" we are only going to see things get more open as time progresses from here or at the very least we don't see them revert back to the situation prior to February 1, 2022.
