Coronavirus (COVID-19): Travel Ban on Foreigners Coming to Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

It recently came to my attention, and by recently I mean just moments ago, that there is now a ban on non-Thai nationals coming into Thailand under the new Emergency Decree which pertains to the Coronavirus outbreak or the COVID-19 pandemic that we are currently dealing with.

In a recent article from thaipbsworld.com, the article is titled:  No Curfew Yet but Partial Lockdown is Here. We are going to be quoting directly from this article but we are quoting from Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kreangarm and quoting directly: "Wissanu said initial restrictions issued under the State of Emergency Decree imposed by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha include a ban on non Thais traveling into the country."  Quoting further: "There are few exceptions for Bangkok based diplomats who need to return to Thailand from overseas trips and pilots and flight attendants of airlines that still operate; but they all need to have fit-to-fly certificates. The same requirement also applies to Thai citizens wanting to return to Thailand. This is not a lock down of the country as the airports are still open he said."

So technically speaking, the country is not on lock down. A Thai national can board a flight and come to Thailand provided they have certain medical certifications even for Thai Nationals and I am not going to get into that in this video. The reason for making this specific video is foreign nationals it appears are not going to be able to get on a flight and come into Thailand or at least if they do get into Thailand, are not going to be lawfully admitted at least for the relatively foreseeable future due to this Emergency Decree arising from the Coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.
